| For this shot I made everything except modelling of the knight leg. For the armour I simply used the same material as explained in example 3. Other wise for the morning star I reduced the steel reflectivity to a much darker/dull texture. I also added a bump map of a hairline crack to express that it has been used in impact. The animation of the morning star dropping was done via keframes for accuracy along with timing. Reactor is a fantastic tool that could have made the same sequence but I feel that it can take a while to set up. Our time scale was very short at this point. In order to ensure connectivity of the links in the chain I used bones with IK properties. Other features such as the grass was done with alpha maps on layered
planes to give distance. However, I also added some 3d grass strand
models in the front to express realism. |
